Proximaterra
Proximaterra is a project by DiSTAR aimed at sharing research data produced for the study, monitoring, and protection of coastal and underwater cultural landscapes.
The processes of 3D digitization of cultural heritage and large territorial areas, the potential of data management platforms that enable complex data interpolation processes, and the new frontiers of data visualization transcend the boundaries of specialized research and disciplinary silos.
It is therefore necessary to imagine new forms of knowledge enhancement, new data modeling processes that, from the outset, integrate diverse skills and perspectives capable of unfolding the infinite network of relationships that the digital realm generates within the vast space of the virtual.
Within these new dimensions of research, it becomes possible to gain a deeper understanding of places, vulnerabilities, and resources; to envision protective behaviors and interventions; and to build inclusive forms of sharing in which everyone can recognize themselves in a role.
