Environmental pollution, human health effects and geochemical risk

5)      25th November 8.30 – 11.30 (3 h)
 
Prerequisites: Basic knowledge of geochemistry and statistics.
 Short Program of the Course:
·         Historical and modern anthropogenic sources of contaminants in the environment and their effect on human health: metals, gaseous pollutant (CO, SO2, NOx, O3), organic compounds (VOCs, PAHs, OCPs) and emerging contaminants (EDC, PPCPs)
·         Environmental Risk Assessment:  general principles and methods. 
·         Case studies at regional and local scales
