Characterization of products coming from Somma-Vesuvius volcanic complex and other volcanic area of Campania region. Minero-petrological, crystallographic and crystal-chemical characterization of: apatite group minerals and associated phases; of fibrous minerals; of fumarolic minerals; of silicates. Minerogenetic process modeling relating to the fluids flow and their interaction with potassic alkaline magmas.
Fibrous and phosphates minerals studies. Mineralogical, crystallographic and crystal-chemical characterization of regulated and not fibrous minerals (DL. N. 257, 2006) to provide useful data to the sanitary structures in charge for the correlations with the pathologies found in territories. Crystallographic and crystal-chemical characterization of phosphates minerals to contribute to focus particular processes for the accumulation of heavy metals and to introduce possible proposals for their use in soils reclamation. Such targets will be useful to the right evaluation of environmental-sanitary hazard, and they are in perfect agreement with those of Horizon 2020 program.
Study and mineralogical characterization, geochemistry and ore crystallographic gem variety withapplication of non conventional analytical tecniques. These researchs are mainly focused on the mineralogical, morphological and crystal-chemical characterization ofgems-qualitymineral. Have been carried out studies with non conventional analytical tecniques. This line of research involves the use and the comparison of data obtained from conventional analytical techniques with non-conventional analytical techniques such as spectroscopy LIBS using the calibration free method.
·Research on Tertiary pyroclastic flow of Sardinia. These studies are aimed at defining minerogenetic features and the nature of the interacting fluids which influence both, processes of components vitreous late riequilibrations and the deposition in vacuoles and / or small cavities of minerals in post-depositional moments.
  Crystal-chemical study of clay minerals, carbonates, silicates and oxides containing economic metals, by XRD, SEM-EDS, WDS and HRTEM.
Mineralogical studies of carbonate rocks and alateryion products, travertines and biomineralization (carbonates, phosphates, oxalates) from southern Apennines.
Mineralogical studies of metallic and lithoid archaeological objects of Campania region and surrounding areas.
